The design
Capacity is raised at two points: a larger sump and a separate auxiliary tank feeding it. More oil in circulation means the oil degrades more slowly under the same load.
What it saves
Fewer service visits per year on the same running hours — around half the maintenance cost of a conventional unit over a service contract.
Run-in at the factory
Every engine is run in before it ships, so the first service interval is a full interval rather than a short break-in check.
